Electronic Logging Device Mandate – The Time is Now

October 30, 2017 Command Alkon

Are You Ready to Be Compliant with the Final Hours of Service (HOS) Rule Related to Use of ELDs Versus Paper Logbooks?

The final rule from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) means that companies who do not have an Automatic On-Board Recording Device (AOBRD) installed in their trucks currently are required to have an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) in place by December 18, 2017. An additional two years is permitted to phase out non-compliant devices in place of those that are compliant, as depicted in this timeline graphic provided by the FMCSA.

No solution can lead to fines for your company among other consequences.  So now is the time to make sure you are ready.

TrackItTM, our industry-specific GPS Truck Tracking & Telematics and Fleet & Workforce Management solution, delivers a compliant ELogs application for HOS duty records –

  • automatically record date/time, location information, engine hours/vehicle mass,
  • capture driver, vehicle and motor carrier identify information
  • appropriate synchronization, duty status, drive alerts, roadside communications, sensor failure, logging, clock drift and tampering resistance

TrackIt also allows you to maximize efficiency and safety while saving money on labor, fuel and fleet maintenance. Being built specifically for the construction materials transportation industry, TrackIt can be customized to your needs, instead of having to adjust your processes to merge with a solution that is not “smart” in the way of heavy building materials deliveries. Top this off with unmatched integration to other Command Alkon solutions to cover the needs of your entire enterprise. Ready to really manage your fleet?
