HeidelbergCement partners with Thoma Bravo to invest in Command Alkon

We are excited to share news on the next step in Command Alkon’s journey in leading the heavy building materials industry towards a digital, integrated supply chain. As part of a new partnership with Thoma Bravo, HeidelbergCement is making a minority investment in our business. Thoma Bravo, a leading software investment firm, will continue as our majority shareholder.

Since being acquired by Thoma Bravo in 2020, we’ve made steady progress to better serve our customers and the entire heavy materials supply chain.  We have enhanced our solutions portfolio to encompass asphalt plant automation and operational performance and expanded transportation logistics and telematics solutions through acquisitions of Libra Systems, Trimble Construction Logistics, and Ruckit.  We are hard at work modernizing and integrating our business systems and organizational structure to provide the best possible customer experience.  Our already strong and knowledgeable management team has been complemented by additional leadership and expertise in Software as a Service (Saas) and cloud-based technologies.  Building on this momentum, this investment will accelerate our strategy to deliver best-in-class, cloud-based solutions that benefit the entire construction industry.

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of building materials and a Command Alkon customer, HeidelbergCement recognizes the value we bring to stakeholders across the construction industry. Heidelberg shares a common vision for and commitment to technology and the digital transformation of the industry.  With their global reach and adoption of our COMMANDassurance, TrackIt and CONNEX technologies, we will more rapidly scale our solutions and increase our worldwide footprint.

We are proud to recognize the investments by Thoma Bravo and HeidelbergCement as validation of our business, our people, and our progress toward leading the digital transformation of our industry. We look forward to continuing to work with all customers as we always have, seeking inputs to ensure we are meeting your needs.  Through this continued collaboration with all industry stakeholders on a global basis, we will move closer to realizing our vision of an integrated supply chain across the heavy construction market.

Phil Ramsey, CEO at Command Alkon, further elaborates on our bright future. “This transaction will better position Command Alkon to continue to enhance our customer service, expand our geographic footprint and execute our transition to the cloud. We look forward to continuing to benefit from our partnership with Thoma Bravo as we deliver automation and business process technologies that provide value to all our customers and partners across the construction industry.”
