Q: Can you elaborate more on how the manual ticket process works in the loader tablet? • If configured, the loader operator can input a weight on the tablet that will be used to create a ticket using AutoID on the machine running Apex. Remote Printing Q: What kind of printers can be used with the Remote Printer Enclosure? Is there a "recommended" model? • If the printer fits in the enclosure, has a network connection, and can drop the paper into a slot, it will work in the enclosure. o Dot Matrix – Dot Matrix printers will not work with the enclosure. o Inkjet – Not recommended. Inkjet printers would likely work with the enclosure, but are not built for the volumes needed nor the environment the printer will be in. o Laser – Laser printers are likely the most popular today. You will want a qu ick first-print speed, and the ability to back feed so that the paper falls into the slot in the enclosure. We are not recommending specific printers, but Kyocera seems to have units that our customers find reliable in the field. o Thermal – Thermal printers are also quite popular. As long as the model has a cutter so that the paper can drop into the slot in the enclosure, it should work fine. We are not recommending specific printers, but Zebra's GX420D has been popular among our customers. Q: Do the printer enclosures have climate control functionality? • The enclosures are equipped with thermostats, fans, and heaters to withstand the elements. Q: How does Apex work with the new CONNEX Platform? • A connector called Data Extraction Agent (DExA) is installed to connect to the Apex database. We're here to answer your questions.
