Command Alkon to Moderate a Panel Discussion on How Jobsite Tech Drives Value for Heavy Work Supply Chain at Constructech Technology Days

November 4, 2020 Press Releases

Naperville, Ill. – October 29, 2020 – Latency and disruption in any supply chain can create havoc and delays. Complexities and dynamics on any construction jobsite compound the impacts of poorly executed supply chain processes.

At the National Constructech Technology Days Conference on November 13, industry leader Command Alkon will moderate a panel about how jobsite technology will drive value for the heavy work supply chain, at MxD in Chicago, IL.

This session will look at how eTicketing and Electronic Proof of Delivery, combined with other advanced asset-tracking technologies, can help to manage materials yield on projects, eliminate costly manual tasks on the jobsite and across the supply chain, and keep jobs humming along.

Hear from leading firms, such as Lane, Bechtel, and Kokosing, about how they are injecting new levels of productivity into their jobsite processes and safety initiatives using technology from providers, like Command Alkon and Atollogy, that gives them real-time visibility and accountability into their material deliveries, job cost tracking, and office processes.

Panelists include Steve Cox, Vice President of Business Development, Command Alkon, Dexter (Dex) Bachelder, Vice President of Contractor Services, Command Alkon, Keith Churchill, Corporate Manager Construction Technology, Bechtel, Giulio Bruttini, Corporate Development Manager, Lane Construction, Joseph Farhat, Vice President of Innovation and Customer Service, Atollogy, and Douglas Jackson, Senior Project Manager, Kokosing Construction Company, Inc.

“The silos that exist between order confirmations, inventory data, schedules, orders in-transit, proof-of-delivery, invoices, payments, and everything in between, lead to a lack of real-time visibility into a project’s status and current needs — and can ultimately prove more costly than the automation technology that can address those silos,” says Bachelder. “Top-tier construction firms are seeing major productivity improvements by taking advantage of technology to collect data from devices, sensors, and other sources, to unlock the kind of data-driven insights that dramatically improve inter-company workflows and enable smarter supply chain decisions in real time.”

About the panelists:
Cox works with internal and external partners to co-create digital collaboration value within the heavy building materials ecosystem. He has held many commercial roles in his career—all focused on understanding the leverage within the construction supply chain and utilizing that knowledge to create successful commercial ventures.

Bachelder grows Command Alkon’s mindshare in the contractor segment, championing the value of a digitally integrated heavy construction supply chain. He has more than 20 years of experience creating greater certainty of outcomes for large project owners, DOTs, and heavy-civil contractors. Prior to Command Alkon, he spent 15 years in various leadership roles with Aconex / Oracle.

Leveraging more than 15 years of field experience in the Heavy Infrastructure and Industrial segments, Churchill has held roles of increasing responsibility, including Operations Manager for Bechtel’s Corporate Construction team. Keith now focuses on developing new designs, methodology, processes, and materials to improve the way that we execute mega projects, working to maximize productivity, while enhancing safety and quality.

Bruttini holds nearly 10 years of experience in corporate strategy and development. Since 2017 he has led a team of five at Lane in corporate strategy development and strategic support delivery to the Executive Team in the U.S. A/E/C market. He works with Bid Development, Business Development, HR, Procurement and Corporate Governance teams to improve internal processes and tools.

“In an era of COVID-19, we know the impact that supply-chain disruptions can have on the construction industry all too well,” says Peggy Smedley, president and editorial director, Specialty Publishing Media. “This panel will bring new insights into how technology can help solve all-too-common challenges on the jobsite.”

This year, Technology Days 2020 is something old and new—but for the first time, we are creating a hybrid event for attendees. Some keynotes and other sessions will provide Q&A discussions and live presentations! This will allow more individuals to participate creating a global opportunity to hear from our first-class speakers (on your own time), research technology solutions, and access additional content on-the-go anytime.

The first day of sessions focuses on the global need for diversity, equality, and encouraging greater STEM in the building and manufacturing space. It will also explore the global trends ranging from prefabrication, new materials and processes, underlying design assumptions, BIM, intelligent infrastructure, and urban mobility.

Day two focuses on the advancement of technology that is inspiring an industry and the next generation of workers to leverage technology to achieve sustainability objectives. In many cases this means building a vision for those companies that believe in taking on a moonshot dream for achieving sustainability and climate goals through the use of traceability and tracking technology. To build tomorrow’s future we will continue to leverage the worker of the future, new AR/VR, drones, and other tools to reshape our urbanization, and so much more.
