Chicago is a city of many opportunities. Tons of big stars that many of us know and love got their start in Chicago – Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Chris Farley (RIP) were all featured members of The Second City improvisational comedy group based in Chicago. Second City also offers training programs; fun fact: Stephen Colbert took a job at Second City answering phones in the box office and selling t-shirts in exchange for free classes. And just look at him now!
Since The Second City Theater opened on December 16, 1959, it has become one of the most influential and prolific comedy theaters in the world. Our very own Ben Rabchuk, who is a native of Chicago, studied at The Second City for some time – which is no surprise. He keeps us all laughing.
Ben has come up with a few compelling cases for you to register for ELEVATE – Construction’s Heavy Work Conference & Expo. The city and all it has to offer is reason enough.
Listen – White Sox, Cubs, Bulls, Michael Jordan statues, Blackhawk fever, Soldier Field, Wrigleyville..Chicago sports and their fans are the best around. Their teams are amazing and their stadiums are national landmarks. The city is electric whenever there’s a game going on. Ben’s a big sports fan himself:
Take your pack to walk to, talk to, and feed the animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Shedd Aquarium. There’s also the Lincoln Park Conservatory and Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum for all you nature lovers:
While ELEVATE is a place to celebrate the evolution of construction, Chicago is a place to celebrate the evolution of man and life itself. Chicagoans truly appreciate the finer things in life. The Lyric opera house, many universities, and several museums make for exciting and educational sites to see:
